The schedule for Friday is as follows:
  NOTE:  Please check back in just before the tournament as these times and locations are subject to change

  • 3:00pm   Team Arrival / Check-in
    • Check-in will be in the outdoor pavilion provided by: 
      Hilltop Athletic Association (see map)

  • 3:30pm    Ice Breaker Meal
    • We will have burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, pasta salad, tossed salad, chips and drinks courtesy of Finnas Tavern
       
  • 4:30pm    Mandatory Coach's Meeting
    • Team documents will be checked and we will have a meeting regarding tournament rules.
       
  • 5:15pm  Opening Ceremonies
    • Parade, opening remarks (guest speaker), player introduction by coaches, National anthem, First pitch.

  • 6:30pm   Skills Competition  (more info below)
    • B5:  6:30pm  Homerun Derby  (2 players from each team)
    • B6:  6:30pm  Roadrunner on B6 (4 players from each team)
    •        7:00pm  Around the Horn on B6 (6 players from each team)

 


2016 EMASS 12’s 50/70 Tournament Skills Competition

 

Infield Around the Horn: Team gets one (1) attempt – Best Time Wins

-        Pitcher starts from the pitching position - clock will start when he releases the ball 

-        Pitcher will throw to catcher who will step on home and throw to 2nd baseman

-        He will step on 2nd base and throw to 1st baseman, who will step on first

-        1st baseman will throw to 3rd baseman who will step on third

-        3rd baseman will throw to shortstop, who will step on 2nd base

-        Shortstop will throw to the catcher who will step on home plate to stop clock

 

Six Players per team will be allowed to participate!

 

Base Running: Team gets one (1) attempt – Best Time Wins

-        First Runner starts from home plate – clock will start at the signal of the timer

-        Players run from home to first base, on to second base, on to third base, and then on to home plate

-        Upon touching home plate the next player can begin and follows the same route as above

-        Clock stops when the last (5th) runner touches home plate

 

Five Players per team will be allowed to participate!

 

Home Run Derby: Each Player Gets 7 Outs – Most Home Runs Wins

-        Team provides pitcher (coach) and balls

-        Anything not hit over the outfield fence in fair territory is an out

-        In case of tie-breaker player will get another 5 outs

 

Two Player per team will be allowed to participate!
