SILVER LAKE STRIKERS INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT RULES
18U OPEN TOURNAMENT
August 14-16, 2015
TOURNAMENT RULES:
All teams must sign in with the Tournament Director 1/2 hour prior to the start of their first game
All teams shall have a folder/binder or envelope including proof of insurance, an ASA Roster Form, and contact names with cell numbers, emails, and hotel name/number if applicable
Practice is only allowed on outfield grass of game fields and in batting cages; all other requests for practice on neighboring fields must be authorized by Tournament Director
Dugouts must be cleaned after each game
Game scores must be provided by each team to Director immediately following games
ASA rules will be in effect throughout the tournament unless specified below.
Rain-out policy: No games played = $300 rebate; One game played = $200 rebate; Two games played = $100 rebate; any portion of a game is considered a full game
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
Home team will be determined by a coin toss in pool play (Friday & Saturday).
Mercy rule will apply: 12 runs after 4, 8 runs after 5. Games in pool play may end in a tie.
Sunday seeding will be determined by standings set after pool play. Team standings will be figured based on 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie.
In the event of a tie in the standings, tie breaker is determined by: 1 - Best record; 2 - Head to head; 3 – run differential; 4 – Runs allowed; 5 – Runs scored
Pool play games will be limited to 1 ¼ hours and championship play games will be 1 ½ hours. Time is determined by the last out of the inning. Championship final will be played until completion, for seven innings, with international tie-breaker, weather permitting.
On Championship Sunday the highest seeded team will have the choice of home or visitor. Teams of equal seeding will be determined by a coin toss.
International tie-breaker rule will be in effect for Sunday championship play
In the event of bad weather or other emergencies, the Director reserves the right to adjust schedules.
